Greetings! And welcome to Tansley UC. If this is your first visit allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Stephen Huntley (prefer Steve). I am an ordained minister within the United Church of Canada, having served the church in six congregations from B.C to Newfoundland. I arrived in Burlington in May 2009. I’ve been in full-time ministry since 1987.Throughout my life I’ve come to strongly believe that the Church holds a critical place in our lives and development. Christian community is essential for discovering the blessings of community and faith development. In a world that is increasingly divided, and where isolation is one of the greatest ills of society, belonging to a church can be a place where you find, comfort, meaning-making and blessing. It is also a place where you can exercise your gifts of service to others and in the world. A church community, too, is one which combines both faith and fun and gives expression to our deepest spiritual needs.I am married to Catherine, my wife of 24 years. Andrew and Georgia complete our family. I am an avid golfer and enjoy a great many outdoor activities, including canoeing and skiing, hiking, gardening and “puttering” at various work projects. I also play guitar.
I hope that you will visit us this Sunday morning (service at 10:00 am) or perhaps join me for a chat over a cup of coffee (or tea) during the week. I’d be pleased to have the opportunity get to know you and answer and further questions you might have about the congregation of Tansley United Church.
Blessings in Christ, Rev Stephen Huntley B.A. M Div.
