Tansley Reads!

Big News about Tansley Reads!

We may be opening an “Afternoon Edition”!
Are you a reader? Have you been wondering about Tansley Reads!?

Even if you haven’t, think about joining us for an afternoon taste of Tansley’s own book club on
Thursday September 6th at 2 pm at the church.
We’ll be discussing the 2017-18 winner book, Letters to the Lost by Iona Grey,
using the format that we follow at our evening meetings.
We’ll even be serving refreshments!
If there’s interest in having afternoon meetings, in addition to the evening ones, this will be where they start.
So find a copy of Letters to the Lost (there are likely copies around, since we read it last year), read it (some or all, or even none of it – it’s always up to you), and join us for a book conversation.

Want to know more?
Ask Janice Hatt, Sue Stephen, Jennifer Brezina or Sheila Young.
Hope to see you there.
Evening meetings of Tansley Reads! will start on
Monday September 24th at 7 pm
when all interested readers are invited to select the books for both groups for the 2018-19 season.

All are welcome.

Do you enjoy reading and discussing books? Socializing with other readers? Tansley Reads! might suit your interests. We meet at 7:30 on the fourth Monday of every month (Sept – June, except December) to discuss a different book. And there are refreshments!

Our first meeting the 2018-19 season will be Monday September 24th, when we’ll nominate books for the program and select 8 for the year. If you like, please bring one title to nominate and a backup in case of duplications. Even if you don’t have a nomination, come and help select the books for this year.

Each month we’ll rate the book we discuss, and by next June we’ll have a winner to recommend to the congregation. Most of the books we choose are fiction, but we usually include one memoir or biography each year.

A list of past winners are listed below.

If you’d like more details, please contact Sheila Young (shesskyoung@gmail.com), Jennifer Brezina (aj.brezina@sympatico.ca),

Sue Stephen (sue.stephen0305@gmail.com) or Janice Hatt (janicehatt@gmail.com).
